There are two types of people in this world: Those who hate jogging ...There are a variety of tabata intervals that you can do to follow the tabata protocol. They can be done with 1, 2, 4, or 8 exercises in each circuit. The advantage of choosing more exercises is that you will have a wider variety of muscles that you can work. The one exercise option is usually done with using cardio machines, sprinting or full body exercises like rep cleans with a barbell. If you choose the two exercise option it is wise to select exercises that use opposite muscles like squats and rows. The same goes for the 4 and 8 exercise options. Rotate through the exercises and place exercises that are opposites back to back. You can use a variety of exercises for tabata intervals. I usually mix up my intervals with dumbbell, bodyweight, suspension training and kettlebell exercises. Fitness newbies are often super excited to get started yet they have a few reservations about what they should do to get started with a program that is designed for their goals, their limitations and their interests… does this sound like you?

I first recommend that if you’re new to fitness all together that you shouldn’t go at it alone. If you like the idea of being a part of a group then find out what your community has to offer. Boot camp workouts are popular and I highly recommend then. Unlike most other group workouts which can categorize themselves as cardio or weight training… boot camps include both and workouts are always changing to provide clients with a taste of different forms of fitness.

Here’s an important tidbit that I want to stress, I have a lot of clients who ask if they should start losing weight on their own through walking and running before starting a toning program. I quickly say no because it is with the help of these toning programs that you will increase your metabolism and burn off more body fat.

In fact now a days it’s clear just how important strength training is for women. Whether it is with body weight or added weight it is super important that you venture into this realm of fitness. But like I mentioned before look for help before just starting in.
