Looking Forward to London 2012

2010 saw the Commonwealth Games being held in India for the first time in its 80 year history. Hamilton, Canada was the proud host of the first games, back in 1930, although it was known then as the British Empire Games. The Commonwealth Games is a celebration of sporting achievement for all the member states of the Commonwealth.

For British sporting fans, the Olympics come to London in 2010, which is a fantastic opportunity for every proud Englishman, Scotsman and Welshman to support their heros on the track and field and watch a feast of sporting entertainment.

Possibly one of the hurdles for those responsible for managing the Indian Commonwealth Games was the little matter of transporting and hosting the hoards of spectators from around the world. Hundreds of thousands of ticket holders from all over the world congregated in the Indian city of Delhi, a city not particularly famed for its organised transport and infrastructure!
